Whining Members of the Cult of Same Day Voting,
Still butt-hurt over what happened in AZ for the Kari Lake election of 2022? Get over it!
Paper jams gonna happen.
Look, if you are stubborn enough to want to vote same day, then expect delays from ballot printing paper jams and ballot scanning paper jams. I have looked at 100s of lines of system logs and these paper jam error messages aren’t going away, sorry (not sorry).
The solution? Mail in your ballot dimwit. At least then, the paper jams that happen at central tabulation can be handled by trusted professionals behind closed doors without the need to fret about it.
The fact that you expect this technology which costs taxpayers 100’s of millions of dollars to work correctly and prevent scenes the like the one below as a result of paper jams is…..delusional.
If you STILL insist on standing in line and voting in person I would ask you to keep these thoughts in mind.
Don’t get upset with the voting machine companies, they are buying the best Chinese and Taiwanese made hardware available.
Don’t get upset with the specialized army of tax payer funded IT workers who scurry about fixing these paper jam problems. They may very well have to handle your jacked up jammed in ballot.
Nobody’s perfect, occasionally Office Max paper will get mistakenly shuffled into the official ballot paper stock. Shit happens.
Delays of this type are actually intended to be a teaching moment for the MagaDonians….mail in your ballot next time. Got it?
If you navigate to the Sheriff Dar Leaf’s X account, you will find files which contain emails from DVS. These excerpts provide outstanding examples of top notch functionality related to paper jams.

________
[Sometimes Is Good Enough]
The issue arises upon ballot insertion where the ICP2 complaints about a paper jam displaying assistance required message. After applying the security key, the ICP2 displays a paper sensor error (the triggered sensors seem to vary from time to time). Depending on the scenario, which seems to be not consistent, the paper jam message can be cleared, as well as the paper sensor. Next ballot attempt, the same paper sensor state behavior occurs. Sometimes, the paper jam message cannot be cleared and the only option is to shut down.
________
[Paper Jam Error Jams]
Sync echoes read from printer failed error message is displayed even after the paper jam is cleared *Steps to reproduce*: 1. Go to poll worker menu and perform hardware test for the printer to print the print test page. 2. While the printer is printing the second page, pull the paper to create the paper jam, so that the second page will not be printed. * Expected result*: The ICX should show paper jam in tray or Cartridge area. Once the paper jam is cleared, the printer should start printing without any errors *Actual result*: The ICX showed the error message Jam in tray or Cartridge area. Cartridge was removed and re-inserted back to clear the paper jam but the ICX still showed the error message Sync echoes read from printer failed
________

On 10th vote casting in progress while printing 5th card from 7 paper Jam occurred and error message *There was an error casting your ballot. Please call a poll worker*
________
[The Green Button]
Rebooted printer by continuously pressing green button with paper jam in place. ICX didn't recover. Rebooted printer by pressing green button with paper jam cleared. ICX didn't recover. Printer was in Ok state (only 1 green light) lit
________
[Stacked]
ICX should not give paper jam message when paper is not stacked properly
________
[Unsuccessful Resolution]
After the paper jam was (unsuccessfully) resolved, check status returned status Ready (printer still had red light blinking) but when tried to print the test page "Print timeout expired" appeared. After restarting the printer, everything worked fine.
________
[Probably….]
Paper jam probably occurred due to the wrong paper size (different paper size loaded in the printer and selected on the printer test)
[Dazed and Confused]
Handling of voting sessions when the printer is loaded with the incorrect paper size is less than ideal. Currently the ballot will begin to print, then report out as a paper jam even though there is no jam, which could lead to pollworker and voter confusion.
Replacing printer pickup rollers with new ones before elections should resolve most of these issues. But not for the intentional wrong paper size/settings.
