In Part 1 of this 4 part series, I looked at a small, private, liberal arts university. The College of Wooster with 2k undergrad students.
In Part 2 I looked at the mid-size public Miami University with ~17k students.
In Part 3, we will delve into the massive Ohio State University with ~46k undergrad students.
Analysis
Let’s again focus on the residence halls. There are a total of 4,196 registrants at these 42 locations. 1,183 are older than 25 years old, about 25%. I think this cohort in particular is worth asking questions about.
In Chart 1, anything above the age 25 is questionable going through to the age of 77 of course. In Chart 2, the break down by Residence Hall is provided.
Chart 3 shows the registration year and astonishingly, some of the “students” were registered as far back as 1990s with one in 1980. This “1980” person resides in the infamous Morrill Tower once occupied by Jeffrey Dahmer for a short time. Looks like a prison to me.
It is plain to see that ~50% of all registrants are in the non voting “Confirmation” status. Going back to 2000, 4,432 ballots have been cast from this group of 4,196 registrants. 2,971 of those 4,196 have been cast since the 2020 General.
Chart 6 tells the simple story, that makes common sense. Most of the “students” who have the status “Confirmation” are older than 22 years old. They moved out of the dorms and apparently, are no longer using that address to vote because they graduated, at least that is what we hope. It is not possible to tell conclusively from a single snap shot of the roll if people are voting while they have the status Conformation.
Like Part 1 and Part 2 of this series, there is a non-trivial number of “students” who don’t use an apartment number within the mailing address of college dorm. This calls into question how absentee are being delivered correctly. For example, looking at the awful Morrill Tower above, there are 99 students with no mailbox number. 43 of the 99 are Active voters. This is absurd. Que the ballot harvesters.
Finally, the best for last.
Yea right! 99.999999% unaffiliated registrants!
The last part in this series will pull together all of the Ohio data into a single analysis.
To be clear, I do not fault any of the students or even the university. The issue is with the maintenance of the voter roll itself. And please, don’t believe me, look at the data yourself, this is all public information.
Good Day to you. This information is quite relevant to every State. While I am 80 years, I see the value of sending this to my Reps. in Oregon, to see if this is replacable with our Colleges, one had China connections, or is there a group who asssists your analysis? Being more familer with crank phones, will the end results come in a manner conducive to moving to a document, or some other venue. My apologies for my lack of whiz bang tech knowledge, so just my thoughts on this.
Great study, our local university has been known to select the city council members for a very long time. The leaders think this is fair.
